Hi all there wonderful crafters.
Good news, I have been chosen to be a DT of a newly established challenge blog "The Mirror Crack'd". There will be challenges in altern art and mixmedia. No card at all. Dt's are from all over the world. Exciting and scary at the same time.
"01 - Anything Mixed Media / Altered Art Goes" is the challenge that this kick of the fun.
For this I have created a box that have had walnuts into a box filled with matches instead. The matchsticks were leftovers from I made advents calendars for last Christmas.
Thought I'd Gesso, but it turned out to be a painter pasta. So after I covered the box with paper, lace and used relief pasta and stencils, I painted this with the painting pasta. It made the surface very smooth, so that glimmermist did not stuck. So it stayed white.
Used flowers and leaves, made some small flowers myselves, and filled with pearls in between the flowers.
On the lid, I used a star stencil and used the relief pasta, and sprayed glimmer mist and decorate with leaves, flowers and beads.
The cut the scratchsurfaces of a matchbox and glued one part inside the lid and the other at the back of the box.
The boring part was filling the box with the matches :)
Then it was just to wrap it into a cellophane bag and ready to give away.
