MixMedia Friendship Tags

Hello and happy summer to you all.

I am back here with another challenge at the House of Cards. This month the theme is 

STRIPES AND OR COLORS.

Here is my tags for the challenge.

My stripes are the ribbons, the gesso and the texture of the cardboard, also choose the colors. 

Did not find my tags, (still unpacking) so I made some from a cardbox. 

For texture I took of the top layer, which I stamped the sentiment on, and the bottom layer made the texture for the tags.

Have used Gesso, Gelatos, Acrylic Paint markers and paste on the backgrounds. Leftover ribbons, (could have used paper scraps to) old watch parts. These I used alcohol inks on. The other metal embellishment did get layers of light gold paste and green gelatos. 

I also had som diecuts in yellow and green, worked perfect here.

On this one I added som micro micro glas beads.

And this got some yellow star sequins.

 This is the color theme for this challenge. You can also choose stripes or both.

MixMedia styled card

Hello everyone.

Back with another card for the challenge at the House of Cards.

This month it is all about feathers and/or colors. I choose to do both, and here is my card.

I knew right away when we got the theme for this challenge. 

I wanted to make a mixmedia card, based on a card I have made on 

class with Kirsten Hyde a while ago.

For my card I have used die cuts, flower, sequins, chains and feathers (from an old earring)

Embosssed a white paper and added some Distress ink randomly and disstressed egdes and torn them to. 

Build up the the card layers with the die cuts and foam tape and the flowers. The feathers I stuck under this layers. The sequins feader I put randomly inbetween the flowers. Secured the chains under all the layers with a tweezer.

I have seen a quot that I just loved, and wanted to try out lettering, and for once I was happy with it.

Found it useful to do it on a narrow strip of paper, easier to do an even size for the letters. 

Then I use some light Gesso, acrylic paint and acrylic marker and made drops around the card in two shade of torquise, one with shimmer. Painted also on the chains with the shimmer one.

Hello everyone!

Here is my MixMedia card inspiration for you.

I choos to use stamp from Reverse Confetti one of ours sponsors.

I have played with my Distress ink, water, watercolor paper and gesso.
Love this stamp from the set I recived,

Had to make it as a focail point.
Different flowers from WOC.
Wood and heart pins embellishment
Gave the diecut and flowers some strokes of gesso to finished it of.
Happy with the result.

Påske Egg - lang rugetid

Heisann.

Endelig begynner scrappelysten å komme tilbake. 

Det er sjelden æ plukke opp et prosjekt når æ ha lagt det ifra mæ for lenge sia... Men det har æ da gjort med dettan påskeegget. Snart et år siden jeg begynte på dette og har nå gjort det ferdig. 

MixMediastil inspirert a bla Kirsten Hyde og hennes kurs. Mister, sprayer, maling og paste er brukt på delene og egget. Og masse Gesso. 

Deler fra PC, leke helikopter, lyspærer, øretelefoner, låsehengsler mm. Ja bla endel som jeg fant på jr rom, han har altid likt å plukke istykker ting for å sjekke korsen det såg ut inni. Noe som har resultert i at han idag e i elektriker faget. Jr hadde også en periode med hodeskaller, deriblandt lomme/bukselenke med disse på. Disse er nå forevig "vokter" av egget :)

Selve egget va et som jr har slitt med i alle år. Den gangen det ble kjøpt, va vi sent ute og valget va da mellom et pitte lite grønt eller et stort lilla.... Det ble lilla, og no e det for første gang et skikkelig manne egg. Endel rødt siden jr e gla i rødt. 

Dekorert med blomster, sorte diamanter og miro-perler. Så her er bildene, de sier mer enn ord.

God påske jr... om ei lita stund :)

Hi and welcome.
After long time I have finished my sons (18) easter egg. The egg itself he have had since he was a little boy, but needed some TLC. And I want to surprice him with it for this Easter, as he no longer live at home. Mooved out for education and work to the south.

He was a boy that did love to pic things a pices just to see how it looked inside. So many of the parts on this are toys and pc and other electric stuff that I have found in his room. He had also a love for those sculls chaines they hang on their pants and juvelry, so it is all stuff he will know and remeber. And hope to bring a smile to his face.

Have used heavy duty glue for those parts and a lot of gesso. Paints, sprays, mists and paste are covering the whole easter egg. Red is his favorite color and used red flowers and microbeads to finished it of. 

I am proud and happy with this. Just have to fill it with some sweets and send it of now.

Rosa hjerte boks

Hallo alle scrappere!

Idag har æ lyst å vise en hjerteboks æ har dekorert til ære for oktober er månden med fokus på brystkreft, Rosa sløyfe aksjonen.

Hadde tatt vare på en hjerteformet sjokolade eske, og malte den med gesso og akrylmaling. Tegnet av fasonge og klippet ut. Brukte tekst stensiler og memento stempel puter, og fikk litt variasjon i papiret. Svertet også kantene med Memento. Alle kantene på boksen ble også svertet. Alle metallene fikk en omgang med alkoholblekk. Blomstene er laget av rester av papiret. Brukte puncher fra Fiskars og Ek Success. Hvite bakgrunsblomster er die fra Prima og swirlene er Joy Crafts. Løse krystallener fra Kort&Godt, og strass lenkene er fra smykke lage stasjet mitt. Metallene er også derifra.

Bunnen inni fikk hvit bunn med stempel fra Papirdesign, et av mine favoritt tekst stempler på vennskap. Pyntet litt i siden for balanse.

Innsiden ble også dekket av mønster papir og liten blomsterpynt.

Metallblomstene er store perle kapsler som ble flatet ut og fikk en omgang med alkoholblekk og så formet til blomster, Rosene er ala Kirsten Hyde mal 

Hadde lyst å ha litt sånn mixmedia feeling på denna så jeg skvetta over med litt forskjellige mister og malinger i hvitt, rosa og sølv nyanser.

Blomster laging får fint at gjøre når en sitter å ser på TV. 

Esken skal få en liten spa gave inne seg senere.

Pocket Letters and a little contest.

Hi you all happy crafters.

Time for a new challenge at The House of Cards, and this months challenge is use color or textures.

I planned for both but, my choice for colors are more bright. And I wanted to show how you can make your own embellishment to texture you cards with. And what is better to show off that than a Pocket Letter. This is a new trend here in Norway and it is my second I have made. Did not think it was for me but It is really fun to do. 

So here is mine.

So here I have used different techniques here, shortly explained in the follow description



1. Fussy cut a lace from a large lace and inked it with alhohol ink. But you can use any kind of ink or markers. Versamark ink all over and emboss with fine clear embossing powder will lock the treads and not torn it up.

2. Embossed with embossing powder along the egdes to make a frame with textures. The medalion is cut out of cardboard, embossed with severals of layers of embossing powder and then used a rubber stamp covered with Versamark, and pressed it down and hold for a bit, carefully released it.

3. Cut out some flowers and branches with my Silhouette in craft cardbord, and inked them up in fall colors. Covered them all with Versamark and clear embossing powder, severals layers.



4. Used PolyShrink paper and cut out some leafs with my BigShot. Inked them with alcohol inks and shrinked them with a heat gun, and covered them in Versamark and UTEE embossing powder. Tip by inking them up befor shrinking the color are brighter than when you ink they when they are shrinked.

5. Cut out a heart shape of cardboard and cowered it with ink (deep purple), Versamark and Pearl embossingpowder, heat and dry and inked with chalk ink, repeat several layers. Covered in Versamark and a layer of UTEE embossingpowder to get the enameld look.

6. Old Priama flower, inked up with drops of alhohol ink, perlize and blending solution.

* You also here see how I filled the holes with ribbons, treads and laces. You can also put trinkets here. The ribbon Idea is from a friend, Tove - Tove's Hjerterom.



7. Same as #2 but with a text stamp in rubber.

8. Alchol ink on metal gives a nice shine.

9. Swirles cut out of a soda can. Inked in alcohol ink and embossed with layers of clear embossing powder.

Here is my textured backside of the pocket letter:



I started by covering the sheet with whithe gesso, then used a stencil and stencil paste. Here you could have used Versamark ink and embossing powder but I did go for the paste this time.

When dry I added a layer of gesso with a little black paint and got the greyish look. Worked on with some gelatos and finnished of with Inca Gold paste in copper. I had ment to use it for the embellishment but I thougth it looked so good that I did not want to. The lucky one who gets this will have 9 backgrounds to play with :)

To hold it all together in the mail I made a cover of the rests of the papers.



Decorated the cover for the pocket letter with leftovers from the papers and embelishments



Just the cover, it can be used in a card as an element.



The flowres and textured paper worked well together on the cover. Added some extra pearls.



Here you see how I folded upp the ribbons and laces in the back tucked inn with the pocket letter in the cover.

I have used:
pockets for collector cards
binding covers 180mic - 9*(3,5x2,5)
2 sheets of 12x12 papers - 9*(3,5x2,5) and 9*(3x2)
1 sheet A4 - 9*(3,5x2,5)
The size of the pockets are 3,5x2,5

To fold the cover you have to measure your folded pocket as they can vary in size. Mine I foldet at 10,11,21,22 cm. Fold and glue, cut of acess paper. Then decorate cover.

If you use a paper that has a nice backside you just ned two sheets of 12x12, the smaler size (3x2) can cut larger but smaller than the (3,5x2,5) to have a smaler frame. I dont glue the pices together so they can be used by the receiver. Some of the embellishment i glue with a tiny drop of glue og gluedots or foame pads to the binding covers so they can be used to. You can wrap whashi tape around it to.

Boks av harde Bokpermer

Hei igjen.

For litt tilbake laget jeg en en oppbevarings boks til min far. Så han kan putte små stasje sitt i, så slipper han å høre på mor som klage på rote hannes. 

Snille skrappe venn Mariann kom innom med et gammelt leksikon så boksen blei stor og fin. Takk Mariann. 

Brukte bare permene og laget en boks-innmat i litt tykk kartong og lime på div metalla ogchipboard bokstava, 

og malte gesso over det hele.. så va det bare å begynne å grise med div sprayer mist og maling. 

Når dette va tørt fikk den litt mere sølv farga metaller og blomster. 

Inni dekte jeg med mønsterpapir, og i lokket laget jeg lommer så han kan putte lapper og beskjeder han vil tavare på. Eldre folk tar jo vare på alt, kan jo hende dem får bruk for det.. hehehe. Pynte litt med blanke metall hjørner her også. 

Fylte med litt stasj te far te dagen hans og ble veldig godt mottatt som vanlig av han.

Framed Card and HOC

Hello everyone.

Ready for the August Challenge at House Of Cards, here it is:

This month the cue is Metallics, use or do anything that you relate to metallics.

I have a little celabration as a DT at Hoc. One year I have been on the DT team. Thanks Mynn for the oportuneti and a great leader.

To my card I choose to make a Framed crad, my first try. And I also used a soda can and cut it. Played with my alchol markers, But I will get me some liquid alchol inks and sulotion to play. There's so many ways to play with these. 

I punched out some flowers and shaped them. Glossy accent and microbeads finished them of. The rest of the can I did embbossed with a embossing folder and used as a background for the flowrs. 

Tried to show howe the frame is build up.

Cardbase is Bazzill silver, and background papers are from Prima. Egde papers with memento ink. I have used diffrent dise from Tonic Studio and added metal studs as embelishment. Used Wink of Stella clear pen on all the diecut pieces to get some shimmer.

Stamped a quote on vellum and heat embossed it in silver. .
