Pocket Letters and a little contest.

Hi you all happy crafters.

Time for a new challenge at The House of Cards, and this months challenge is use color or textures.

I planned for both but, my choice for colors are more bright. And I wanted to show how you can make your own embellishment to texture you cards with. And what is better to show off that than a Pocket Letter. This is a new trend here in Norway and it is my second I have made. Did not think it was for me but It is really fun to do. 

So here is mine.

So here I have used different techniques here, shortly explained in the follow description



1. Fussy cut a lace from a large lace and inked it with alhohol ink. But you can use any kind of ink or markers. Versamark ink all over and emboss with fine clear embossing powder will lock the treads and not torn it up.

2. Embossed with embossing powder along the egdes to make a frame with textures. The medalion is cut out of cardboard, embossed with severals of layers of embossing powder and then used a rubber stamp covered with Versamark, and pressed it down and hold for a bit, carefully released it.

3. Cut out some flowers and branches with my Silhouette in craft cardbord, and inked them up in fall colors. Covered them all with Versamark and clear embossing powder, severals layers.



4. Used PolyShrink paper and cut out some leafs with my BigShot. Inked them with alcohol inks and shrinked them with a heat gun, and covered them in Versamark and UTEE embossing powder. Tip by inking them up befor shrinking the color are brighter than when you ink they when they are shrinked.

5. Cut out a heart shape of cardboard and cowered it with ink (deep purple), Versamark and Pearl embossingpowder, heat and dry and inked with chalk ink, repeat several layers. Covered in Versamark and a layer of UTEE embossingpowder to get the enameld look.

6. Old Priama flower, inked up with drops of alhohol ink, perlize and blending solution.

* You also here see how I filled the holes with ribbons, treads and laces. You can also put trinkets here. The ribbon Idea is from a friend, Tove - Tove's Hjerterom.



7. Same as #2 but with a text stamp in rubber.

8. Alchol ink on metal gives a nice shine.

9. Swirles cut out of a soda can. Inked in alcohol ink and embossed with layers of clear embossing powder.

Here is my textured backside of the pocket letter:



I started by covering the sheet with whithe gesso, then used a stencil and stencil paste. Here you could have used Versamark ink and embossing powder but I did go for the paste this time.

When dry I added a layer of gesso with a little black paint and got the greyish look. Worked on with some gelatos and finnished of with Inca Gold paste in copper. I had ment to use it for the embellishment but I thougth it looked so good that I did not want to. The lucky one who gets this will have 9 backgrounds to play with :)

To hold it all together in the mail I made a cover of the rests of the papers.



Decorated the cover for the pocket letter with leftovers from the papers and embelishments



Just the cover, it can be used in a card as an element.



The flowres and textured paper worked well together on the cover. Added some extra pearls.



Here you see how I folded upp the ribbons and laces in the back tucked inn with the pocket letter in the cover.

I have used:
pockets for collector cards
binding covers 180mic - 9*(3,5x2,5)
2 sheets of 12x12 papers - 9*(3,5x2,5) and 9*(3x2)
1 sheet A4 - 9*(3,5x2,5)
The size of the pockets are 3,5x2,5

To fold the cover you have to measure your folded pocket as they can vary in size. Mine I foldet at 10,11,21,22 cm. Fold and glue, cut of acess paper. Then decorate cover.

If you use a paper that has a nice backside you just ned two sheets of 12x12, the smaler size (3x2) can cut larger but smaller than the (3,5x2,5) to have a smaler frame. I dont glue the pices together so they can be used by the receiver. Some of the embellishment i glue with a tiny drop of glue og gluedots or foame pads to the binding covers so they can be used to. You can wrap whashi tape around it to.

Blå Kirsten-kopp

Hallo :)

Idag e dettan et kort innlegg.

Måtte ha en liten oppmerksomhet til ei veeeeldig kaffeglad venninne og hadde det litt travelt. Viste om koppen til Kirsten, og spurte pent om å få lov til å lage en i ganske make stil. Og det fikk æ så her finn dokker malen til Kirsten Mug. Takk Kirsten, til dere som ikke kjenner henne er det mye spennende i bloggen hennes, og så er ho i design teamet til Kaisercraft. Verdt en titt innom.

Koppen er kuttet ut med Portretten og limt i hop. Alle panelene stemplet jeg med stempler fra Inkadinkadoo og Heidi Swapp i to blå farger fra memento. Og limt på med Rx-lim.

Sykepleieren er farget med Prismacolor blyantene, og er mye mer nyanser i fargene enn det kommer frem på bildet. Klippet ut og limt på koppen med 3D puter. Teksten rundt livet hennes er fra Kirsten og hadde en annen som har komt fra sykepleieren selv skrev jeg inn i et wordokument før jeg kuttet den ut. Sykepleieren heter Naugthy Nurse og er fra Kenny K.

Hadde det som sagt travelt og fikk bare tatt dette ene bildet, og skulle ta bilder etter at jeg hadde puttet oppi kaffe og kaffegodt, men glemte det helt. Så her er den.

Bestemte meg for at jeg hadde lyst på et fat til den og fant et i SH-store, kuttet det ut og limte det i sammen og såg da at det var 8kantet og ikke 6 som koppen er... hehehe 

Fort ska det gå ..... 

Limte på en blonde kand da sykepleieren er litt romantisk av seg, går også en blondekant rundt hele koppen, men vises ikke her da tegningen og teksten skjuler den..

På motsatt side har jeg satt på to blå blingswirler og bling stener og hjerter på tekstene. Og en liten blå bling i halsen og i øret. 

Som dere sikkert har skjønt liker min venninne blått veldig godt... hehe det rimte :D

Dobble Gatefolded Card with hidden opening - Wedding

Hei folkens!

Da e æ tebake med et nytt kort, bestillingkort te bryllup i blått og gult. Artig med utfordringer som ikkje følger de vanlige tradisjonene og valgene. Blått er en av mine favoritt farger og scrapper mye med dem, men denne gangen i kombo med gult som bestiller ønsket.

Bestiller er en sprek dame og sku til England i høstbryllup og da hadde jeg lyst å prøve meg på noe nytt, og fant flere turtorials på dette dobble gatefoldet kortet med skjult lukking.

Kortet ble spennende og fresh i fargene. Så her er det:

Den ene siden glir inn i en skjult lomme på fronen når det lukkes

Slik ser kortet ut helt utfoldet og det kan stå av seg selv.

Skjult lomme bak fronten

Blomster bygd opp i flere lag på pappplater som base. Og siden æ ikke fant vellumen min ble bryllupsteksten stemplet på acetat og embosset og stanset ut med en Die Disre label som hadde huller i hver side. Og der tredde jeg pyntenålene igjennom og festet dem på baksiden av hjertet før dem så ble limt på doilien og kort fronten. Fronten er som regel det siste jeg monterer på de fleste kort, særlig når den ruver slik som denne :)

Brullupstekster og stempeler fra forskjellige sett.
Passet på å ikke ha noe annet en flatt papir på venstre halvdel da dette skal inn i lommen bak fronten når det er lukket.

Her er det også brullups tekster brukt for å ramme inn skrivefeltet i midten. Brukte clear gel pen stardust for skimmer på deler av tekstene.

Baksiden når det er lukket. Her har jeg brukt samme label die som til bryllupsteksten.

Snowflake and Faux Stitches

Hi every one.

Another challenges are due at the House of Cards, and this month you have to make a card with stitches real og faux.

I have used the faux one, and could not decide the one to use so I made 5 card, using faux stitches in different ways. 

So here they are.

The die have used is Large Snowflake from Impression Obsession, it is great for inlay work.

I have use diffrent leftovers i blue and white. And made the cardbase from ColorCopy paper 250gr.

Here I have used my TH marker and made line like inn a quilt, Tried to make a little batiq background and used a white Sakura gel pen in those area. I also had a ribbon with stitches in the same way and a paper with stitches on.









Here I used the negative space of the paper after diecutting the snowflake. Inked with TH distress ink and after just dotted line alonge the egdes with a TH marker

 

For this one I used my ruler and started with the line diagonaly from corner to corner, and made stitch line along both egdes and moved the ruler lined up with the last line. Did that in both directions. Used a TH marker. Stamped som snowflakes I punched out of foam and sprayed a little water. Did cut out some snowflakes i white paper edged and used clear Wink of Stella on them and layered them with foam tape. The bacground paper had a lot of holes and thoug they looked like stitches too.

 

When I started this I thought to make simple cards but that is a hard one for me. But managed to make this farly simple. Here a used a trasing wheel from may sewing stash. Did press hard so the diples was easy to se. Took a TH marker and made stitches between them. This is a way to easy make even stitches. I took a lighter color and frihand the line inside the first stitches.

 

For this one I also used my trasing wheel. Rolled it over my ink pad and lined it up with a ruler and rolled across the paper inn diffrent directions. When I was done i thought it was to plaine and picked up several blue TH markers and dotted the lines and I got the look I wanted. I recomend to do this before you glue your images to the paper.

Boks av harde Bokpermer

Hei igjen.

For litt tilbake laget jeg en en oppbevarings boks til min far. Så han kan putte små stasje sitt i, så slipper han å høre på mor som klage på rote hannes. 

Snille skrappe venn Mariann kom innom med et gammelt leksikon så boksen blei stor og fin. Takk Mariann. 

Brukte bare permene og laget en boks-innmat i litt tykk kartong og lime på div metalla ogchipboard bokstava, 

og malte gesso over det hele.. så va det bare å begynne å grise med div sprayer mist og maling. 

Når dette va tørt fikk den litt mere sølv farga metaller og blomster. 

Inni dekte jeg med mønsterpapir, og i lokket laget jeg lommer så han kan putte lapper og beskjeder han vil tavare på. Eldre folk tar jo vare på alt, kan jo hende dem får bruk for det.. hehehe. Pynte litt med blanke metall hjørner her også. 

Fylte med litt stasj te far te dagen hans og ble veldig godt mottatt som vanlig av han.

Framed Card and HOC

Hello everyone.

Ready for the August Challenge at House Of Cards, here it is:

This month the cue is Metallics, use or do anything that you relate to metallics.

I have a little celabration as a DT at Hoc. One year I have been on the DT team. Thanks Mynn for the oportuneti and a great leader.

To my card I choose to make a Framed crad, my first try. And I also used a soda can and cut it. Played with my alchol markers, But I will get me some liquid alchol inks and sulotion to play. There's so many ways to play with these. 

I punched out some flowers and shaped them. Glossy accent and microbeads finished them of. The rest of the can I did embbossed with a embossing folder and used as a background for the flowrs. 

Tried to show howe the frame is build up.

Cardbase is Bazzill silver, and background papers are from Prima. Egde papers with memento ink. I have used diffrent dise from Tonic Studio and added metal studs as embelishment. Used Wink of Stella clear pen on all the diecut pieces to get some shimmer.

Stamped a quote on vellum and heat embossed it in silver. .

Lollipop cards and HOC

Hi friends.

Time for another challenge at the House of Cards. 

And the newest trend here i Norway are "Lollipop-cards". 

So I wanted to try that and I also wanted to color again, have been a while since the last one. 

Been a while since I had colored so that was a challenge to. I have som favorte artist and this time i choose some from Aurora Wings, take a peek at all her lovely digis. I colored these with my Prismacolor pencils, and I have not forgotten how to.. :)

All the lollipop-cards I have seen have all been round, and you know me... I had to do it my own way, ... so you see mine ended up oval and I got to use my new Spellbinder die. And my paper straws have dissapeared, so I just used normal plastic straws. Not as pretty but they work. 

Flowers are from Wild Orchid,

On the back side I stampt some friend text from Storyteller also the blings are from them.

These are so easy and fun to make and you can use flower sticks instead of straws and stick it in a flower pot as a little extra decoration or with clearbag of a treat for any occacsions. 

I challenged my self by using yellow and orage colors, but I had to make one useing one of my faveorite color combos, blue colors.
